Obituary of Genoveva Serrano

Genoveva "Eva o Vita" Serrano, de 82 años, de Sierra Vista, Arizona, falleció en Phoenix, Arizona el 21 de agosto de 2021, después de una valiente batalla contra el cáncer. Estaba rodeada de familiares y amigos que la aman mucho. Sus padres, Estevan Domínguez y María Gamera la recibieron el 3 de enero de 1939 en Ojito, Colonia Morelos, México. Despues, su familia se mudó a San Luis Río Colorado, Sonora, México, donde conoció y se casó con Arnulfo Serrano el 5 de noviembre de 1965. Después de estudiar la Biblia, se dedicó mediante el bautismo en agua como testigo de Jehová el 29 de diciembre de 1973. Ella disfrutó su lectura de la Biblia todos los días y le encataba compartir lo que aprendia con los demás. Ella era una madre y ama de casa trabajadora. Una de sus muchas cualidades fue ser hospitalaria. Disfrutaba abrir su hogar a familiares y amigos, ofreciéndoles todo lo que tenía para su comodidad. Le sobrevive su amado esposo de 55 años de matrimonio, Arnulfo Serrano. Sus seis hijos: Jorge Catalán, Sergio (Angélica) Domínguez, Arturo (Elena) Serrano, Silvia Serrano, José Javier (Verónica) Serrano y Nohemi (Dominic) Serrano-Abril. Tambien, 21 nietos, 28 bisnietos y 2 tataranietos. Ademas, le sobreviven sus hermanos Primitivo Dominguez, Abel Dominguez y su hermana Hilda Franco. La velacion se llevará a cabo el 4 de septiembre de 2021 de 12 pm a 2:30 pm (hora de Arizona) en Samaritan Funeral Home, 1505 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix. El servicio funebre comenzará a las 2:30 pm. Para aquellos que no puedan asistir, se transmitirá a través de Zoom. A peticion de Genoveva, no se necesitarán flores. En cambio, ella querría que familiares y amigos se unieran para escuchar el discurso del funeral. Su cuerpo será incinerado y sus cenizas reposarán junto a la tumba de su madre. She was surrounded by family and friends that love her very much. Genoveva was born in Ojito, Colonia Morelos, Mexico on January 3, 1939 to Estevan Dominguez and Maria Gamera. Her family moved to San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora, Mexico, where she met and married Arnulfo Serrano on November 5, 1965. After studying the Bible, she dedicated herself by water baptism and became one of Jehovah Witnesses on December 29, 1973. She enjoyed reading the Bible daily and sharing what she learned with others. She was a hard working housewife and mother. One of her many qualities was being hospitable. She enjoyed opening her home to family and friends and offering everything that she had for their comfort. She is survived by her loving husband of 55 years of marriage, Arnulfo Serrano. Her six children: Jorge Catalan, Sergio (Angelica) Dominguez, Arturo (Elena) Serrano, Silvia Serrano, Jose Javier (Veronica) Serrano, and Nohemi (Dominic) Serrano-Abril. Including 21 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers, Primitivo Dominguez, Abel Dominguez and sister, Hilda Franco. Viewing will be held September 4, 2021 from 12pm-2:30 pm (Arizona Time) at Samaritan Funeral Home, 1505 E. McDowell Road, Phoenix. Funeral service talk will start at 2:30 pm. For those who cannot attend, the complete funeral service will be streaming via Zoom. Per Genoveva request, flowers will not be needed. Instead she would want family and friends to join in to listen to the funeral talk. Her body will be cremated and her ashes will be laid to rest next to her Mother's grave.
